ROOF GOES UP ON IBERIA'S NEW MAINTENANCE HANGAR IN BARCELONA..

• Lifted at 4 metres per hour for about 6 hours
• Hangar to open in October and begin activity a month later

IBERIA AND ST AEROSPACE COMMEMORATE OFFICIAL OPENING OF MAeS ..
· Delivered 10 landing gears to date, and received a set of landing gears from its first external airline customer, SriLankan Airlines
· ST Aerospace provides extensive experience in the overhaul and repair of landing gear on commercial and military aircraft as well as its reach to a broad customer base, while Iberia’s expertise will be used to assist in the training of local technicians to perform the maintenance on aircraft components. · Madrid Aerospace Services (MAeS) is located at Torrejón de Ardoz, near the airport of Barajas and the hangars and workshops of Iberia in La Muñoza

Thirteenth Consecutive Profitable Year..
IBERIA EARNED 2008 PROFIT OF 32 MILLION EUROS
§ Measures included in multi-year strategic plan achieved a 5.1% reduction in unit operating costs, excluding fuel
§ Fuel prices soared, swelling expenditures by 521 million euros, but other operating costs declined by 241 million euros
§ Operating revenues slipped by 1.3%, partly because of the depreciation of the U.S. dollar. At constant exchange rates, there would have been a small increase
§ The maintenance unit achieved an 8.7% rise in revenues from outside clients, with new clients and new services
§ The end-year balance sheet showed that Iberia’s financial position remained very sound, with a net worth of 1,564 million euros and current assets of 2,350 million
§ Productivity, measured as available seat kilometres (ASKs) per employee, rose by 3.9% in the year, and the fleet utilisation rose by 4.3% to an average of 10 hours per aircraft/day
